Holy new words batman!!

So I guess all it took for Marcus to start speaking is for Grandma to come.

She brought him a book that has flaps. He brought it to her and she was saying the names of things and he was repeating them back to her! All his consonants were D's but they sounded really close to the word! He said bear, chicken and a handful of other words. I'm amazed! I'm totally blown away by him.

Funny thing is, is that I talk to him all day long pointing things out and saying what they are and he never repeats them except baby and then my mom comes with this new book and he's all words. Thanks mom! Now I know Marcus is getting something out of me talking to myself all day long!

He handed her the book and climbed into lap 4 times tonight. What a sweet boy. He jumped all over her when she walked in, gave her hugs and kisses galore and to top it all, Jamesen napped on my dad instead of screaming.

What a wonderful night :)

I'm Adi and I'm addicted to...

If you know me, you know that my emotions go in extremes. I've always been like that. So I'm extremely laid back, extremely mad, extremely happy etc. It doesn't usually come in a not extreme state. Due to this, my likes tend to be affected. As in... when I like something, I REALLY like something.

Growing up it was dalmatians and then flamingos were thrown in there somewhere and it finally rested on penguins and has been penguins ever since. To give you a picture of what it was like, I get all penguin stuff for Christmas and I LOVE it! This 'like' for penguins was so extreme at one time that I would buy everything penguin I saw. A towel, a pot holder, paper towels or even gift bags. Seriously!

Since then it's calmed down. I had bills to pay when I moved out of my parents house and soon a husband and kids. Not that I didn't want to buy everything, lol. But there's still a few things that I just can't resist buying when I see them... Penguin mugs. We have like 10 penguin mugs in my house.. Penguin ornaments. Oh my gosh. I can't get enough penguin ornaments. I have 2 shoeboxes full of them and I still buy all the ones I see every year. And penguin wrapping paper!! Sabe and I have a tradition of going out and trying to find penguin wrapping paper so if I see it when we're not searching, I have to get it!

Anyways, I've recently admitted that I have another addiction... little boy pj's. Seriously I've got a problem! First thing I go to in the kids section is the pj's. Marcus needed some new pj's recently and I ended up buying 6 pairs. He really only needed like 2. I discovered recently that Jamesen no longer fits in the newborn sleepers that Brittanie sent me and there's a void...

Marcus was never cold, he gets hot really really easy so we had him either in his diaper or in onesies for sleeping in the summer. Jamesen doesn't like to be naked and he likes to be toasty like me so we put him in sleepers for bed. Well, we don't have any 0-3 month sleepers and we only have one 3-6 month one. Do you know how excited I am?!? Sabe said that we could go pj shopping today!!! AHHH!

And the one thing that gets me every time is Dino pj's. Man oh man I can't resist! They get me every time. There's some dino footy pj's at walmart that I sooo want to get for Marcus but every time I go they don't have his size. The selection is getting smaller and smaller. I think I might try to talk Sabe into letting me get the next size up for when he's older. If they were on clearance I wouldn't hesitate to buy the next size but since they're not... I can't really justify it unless Sabe says I can lol.

My name is Adi and I'm a pj-hollic!

Happy 1 month baby Jay!!

You know, if I thought that time went fast with Marcus, I was sooooooo wrong. How could time go any freaking faster than it was with Marcus?? Well it's possible. Because yesterday we took these pictures:

And the last last two days I've taken these:

Look at those cheeks!!! AHHHHH!

Yes he's got a lazy eye. It was a lot worse at birth and it's gotten so much better. You can't really tell in person. it's only in pictures that you can see it. Look how well he's holding up his head! He does better and better every day and can hold it like this for about 30 seconds to a minute at a time before he lets it go. WTG little man!!

I took this this morning. I meant for it to be a cute picture in his grandma's boy onesie and it turned into this... oh boy! Uncle Jake will be proud though. I never was able to catch Marcus flipping the camera. And what's better on his month birthday and getting a camera first, a real smile! Sorry it's out of focus... I'm kinda sad he didn't get dimples like his brother... Oh well!

And a cute one of Marcus showing off those adorable dimples!!Here's a video since I don't think I've posted one of Jamesen before. He's a sweetheart.

So I have to tell you about an incident that happened today. We decided to try this Mexican place just off post. Sabe had Jamie-boy at first and I was helping Marcus eat. Jamesen got fussy so we switched because he's a lot less likely to be fussy if he's close to the boobs [go figure]. Anyways, Sabe was helping Marcus eat but he was refusing his food for the chips so I suggested he give Marcus some food off his plate.

Next thing I know Marcus' eyes get all bugged out and he's got his mouth wide open and he's breathing really heavy and he let out this really sad scream kind of cry. I knew once I saw his eyes bug that he had gotten a piece with hot sauce on it. It can't have been that much because we didn't even really get a chance to react before he was fine again but it was one of those sad-cute things. Awwww, Mister Man's first taste of hot sauce! Uncle Jared would be proud!

Oh and another random thing... WalMart was next to that Mexican place and I went in there to look for something while Sabe paid and I was about to check out when on the part where the candies are was a set of pj's. You'll never guess what was on them. Halloween stuff!!!! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays ever. I was on the phone with Sabe and we were having a conversation and I just stopped... "Oh my gosh... Halloween pj's. Sabe they've got Halloween pj's!!!" He laughed and told me not to go anywhere and he would be there in a few minutes, lol. He knows me so well.

So yeah, we bought Marcus a few pairs of Halloween pj's. Lucky for me, he needed some long sleeve pj's that were in 2T since he doesn't fit the 18 mo's anymore. Sadly [oh sooooo sadly] they didn't have 3-6 mo onesies. They had a pumpkin and a ghost one in 0-3 and I almost got them but then I got to thinking about it...

Marcus was into 3-6 months at 2 months and 6-9 months at 4 months. Jamesen will be 4 months old at Halloween so... really we should wait to see if the 3-6 months would even fit him for Halloween before we buy anything for him.

Anyways, I keep losing my train of thought so I'm gonna go. Thanks for reading!

Breathe... and let go

I've been doing that a lot lately. Marcus has really been showing the terrible two's and it's extremely frustrating. He was showing it a little bit before Jamesen showed up, but since Jamie-boy came he's gotten so much worse! We usually tell him not to do something and then say it a bit louder , threaten to count from three and then count backwards from three if he's doing something something wrong. Normally he would stop right as we said one. If he didn't stop we would get up and put him in time out [sit him on our laps while holding his arms to his chest and his legs in our legs]. He'd get mad enough not to do it again.

Lately... lately he's realized that if we're holding Jamesen, we're less likely to get up and get him after counting backwards from three. I'm usually nursing or J's asleep on Sabe so we don't want to move him. Oh Marcus knows! He'll stand there doing whatever it is we don't want him to do and look back at us with this half grin that says "You're not gonna come get me, I know you aren't".

For a little bit there I would hit Marcus back if he hit us or I would spank him if he I got to the end of 3 but lately I've had to stop because I get so angry that I hit waaaayyy too hard. I've been trying not to hit him out of anger because I only ever hit him too hard and that's not the type of discipline I want to use with him. It's frustrating though when you just get him in trouble for something and he goes right back to doing it. Just remember it's the terrible two's stage, he's going to test your limits and breaaaaatheeeeeeeee.

In other news, Jamesen is lactose intolerant like Marcus was. I'm pretty sure he's got it worse though because Marcus never screamed like this when I ate dairy. He was just fussy and gassy. Jamesen is gassy and screams. I wanted to test out the dairy thing so I didn't eat dairy for a week and then I ate pizza. Yeah, no more dairy for me. Jamesen was crying and fussy and screaming and inconsolable and gassy. Poor kid. I was beating myself up about it yesterday because it was my fault he was so cranky.

He's holding his head up really well though and starting to focus on my face for long periods of time. He even gave me his first smile in response to me the other day. Sadly he's not a smiler like Marcus was. Marcus was smiling in response to me at day 3 and by 4 weeks was grinning HUGE. Jamesen smiled the most beautiful smile once. But Sabe was standing right there and saw it too! He's missed all of Marcus' firsts pretty much that was awesome to have him catch the first of Jamesen's.

Ok, Jamie-boy is getting fussy. Thanks for reading :)
