Long Time No Post!

Wow, yeah... it's been a long time!

As most of you know, we are currently in the middle of a move from Fort Benning, GA to Fort Lewis (AKA JBLM), WA. We started our trek mid last month. My best friend Shauna flew to GA from Las Vegas and helped me with the kids on the 4 day drive from GA to Utah where we visited for about a week and a half.

It was seriously so nice to see my family. I hadn't seen my some of my siblings in over 4 years! They hadn't even met Jamesen yet. Craziness! That's what happens when you move all over the country though. You're too far away for visits. My mom only got to see Gemma for a short time before she had to go back to Vegas after she was born and my dad hadn't even met her yet, so it was good to have them be able to see my kids again.

A couple days after arriving in Utah, Shauna and I took the kids up to Idaho to go see my sister and her husband's college graduation. That was fun! We got to hit up the zoo in Idaho Falls while we were there.  Marcus and I went there when he was about 8 months old, but it was the first Idaho zoo for Jamesen and Gemma. We also got to see my little sister who I hadn't seen in about 5 years and my cousin Tiffany who I hadn't seen in about a decade!

I didn't realize just how much I missed my family until I saw them again!

After we got back from Idaho, we got together again with my family and went to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. Marcus and Jamesen had been to this zoo a few times, but it was Gemma's first time going to a Utah zoo. They have seriously changed that zoo so much! It was completely unrecognizable! Not that that's a bad thing, though! It was nice going to zoo I'd already been to and having it feel like a new zoo!

After that, my parents and Shauna went home. That was so sad. I've missed them terribly ever since and I hope it doesn't take as long for us to see them again. We had a lot of fun with them and the boys keep asking where Shauna is since she spent almost 2 weeks straight with us.

We spent a few more days at Grandma Lynne's house and got to hang out a bit more with my two brothers that live Utah. My kids just adored Uncle Jared! We all went to a trampoline place and had so much fun together.

The time to continue our journey soon crept up on us though and off we went again! We drove up through Idaho and made our way into Oregon where I fell completely and totally in love. Oregon is amazing!

Washington isn't quiet as pretty as Oregon, but it has some beautiful mountain ranges that we drove through. One such mountain range had clouds that were right on top of the trees. You could see them flowing through the breaks between them. It was really mesmerizing! Well, it would have been had there not been so many other cars on the curvey road we were on!

It really is pretty here though. The roads are a bit weird and have some strange tendencies that we'll have to get use to, but it is what it is. We seem to have pretty much everything I'm use to here, so that's a plus.

We drove by the house we'll be getting in a few weeks! It looks pretty good, but we only were able to see the outside. We'll have to rent a  fence for the backyard, but worse things have happened. We'll have to bring the grass back as well since it's all yellow. I don't mind though. We'll be here for four years at least, so I want the grass to be nice.

We went to Lowe's today and got paint swatches for the kids' rooms. I'm so excited to get our house and the rooms painted and everything in there and just start our life here! the hotel has been rough... We had an angry neighbor below us call in quite a few noise complaints on us in the first half an hour we were here so they made us move across the hall and the next day made us move to the first floor. We haven't had any complaints now though, so that's good.

Titan has been doing alright, but he's going through a lot of stress and has lost his house training a bit. That's been tough. We've been taking him out a lot, but he still made a few messes. Luckily the hotel staff has been understanding and we've not run into any trouble on that front.

Gary has been great. She's such a champ. She's moved so many times now she just gets angry but puts up with it. She's not loving having Titan in close quarters with her though. I'm hoping that having to spend a few weeks in such a small room together will make Gary chill out a bit. she's such a grumpy old lady when it comes to Titan!

Anyways, that's the news on our end for now. I'll try to be better about keeping up with my blog!
