Oh and just so I remember when he's older, I guess being in Kentucky is rubbing off on him because he says "M" with a southern accent. "Ay-ehmmmm". Hilarious!

Oh what a week!

It has been some week! Sabe started a cycle so we were adjusting to life without him after a week and a half of him on leave. Not fun for any of us! Then we all got sick because when you group a whole bunch of people together they spread germs and the Drills get it and bring it home to their families. It's called the funk! It's a chest cold type thing. It hangs around with the Drills because they're running on such low sleep that their bodies don't have time to fight it. So even though Sabe got it before us, the kids and I have had it and it's gone and his is only just now starting to clear up.

I think Jamesen might be getting teeth. He wakes up frequently in the middle of the night crying. It's really not been fun. When he had the funk he kept waking up with a very persistent fever. I don't know how high it was because I didn't find my thermometer until after his fever stopped coming back [go figure] but he was very warm and restless and very unhappy. The fevers been gone for about 2 or 3 days [my days run together.. I honestly can't tell you how long it's been] and he's still waking up multiple times a night [and I mean like 15+] crying and it takes awhile to get him to be still.

And you know what? He's been six months old for about a week and a half and I keep forgetting to make his 6 month appointment. Sabe has CQ on the 25 so I'm supposed to make his appointment for the 26 since I'll have the car but I keep forgetting and now I'm not gonna get the appointment for that day. And the lady was supposed to call me back about the appointment for his bump and she didn't do that either. GRRR! How annoying! Maybe by writing it down I'll remember. Or I'll read it tomorrow. I often read my blogs the next day because I write late at night and miss spelling errors and things so I go back in the morning and fix them. I'll remember to call and hopefully get one of the appointments for the 26. What a pain!

Marcus is talking so much. He's starting to sing too. He sings along with Choo Choo Soul and the opening songs to his favorite shows. He's copying a lot of stuff. Just today [oh it had me busting up. Just ask Britt], I was sitting there watching TV with him and he found the remote without me noticing and turned it off. I said "Hey!!" and he repeated it. The way he said it was so funny to me. I'm so not used to him talking since he's only just in the last like month started talking so it was really funny hearing him say it so perfectly. "Hey." He's really got the sweetest little voice.

I got a video of him singing numbers along with Choo Choo Soul. Singing Vid. He's saying "4, 5" along with the song.

Here's a video of Jamesen's new way of getting around. Crawling Vid He started crawling like this a few days after he learned how to pull himself to a stand. It's like he really wants to walk but can't quite do it yet.

Anyways, that's news on us. Yes Lynne, we're alive and well :)

One of the two...

Either Jamesen needs to hurry and start walking [haha, that made me laugh out loud to myself.. hurry and start... like he's past one and not walking yet... haha] or I need a second car. Marcus has cabin fever and he's got it BAD.

He's being horrible. Seriously HORRIBLE and mean all day long. I know it sounds bad but seriously he does everything he knows he's not supposed to do, pushes Jamesen over, throws toys at us and beats on Gary [among other things]. But I can't take him out in 20 something degree weather to blow off the extra energy.

I'm going to rant and rave if I don't keep this short and sweet so I'll get to the point.

Either Jamesen needs to start walking so that he can play more with Marcus and they can entertain each other, or I need to get a second vehicle because cooping crazy Marcus up in a house all day every day is not a good thing! And I can't walk 4 miles to the nearest indoor play place.

Life is not fun at the moment.

Oh and speaking of Jamesen, today at bath time he was standing next to the side and let go... and stood there... for like 3 seconds but he stood there!

Imagination

Marcus found his imagination a few months ago and it's been so fun watching it grow. He'll run his cars along any flat surface while making car sounds, stick stuffed animals in Jamesen's swing and lock them in and give them a kiss. Yesterday was really cute. He was lining his blocks up and then he'd stack them one by one and "play" it.

Wind instrument

Guitar

Drums
He was beating on the top of the yellow block but I missed it. He would make an instrument, play it and then go sit it in a corner so they were all together. It was so cute!

Having both an infant and a toddler makes me really appreciate how far Marcus has come from where Jamesen is now.

Oh Jamesen

I keep forgetting to post Jamesen's developmental stuff on here. I post vids on my photobucket but I forget that not everyone goes over there constantly like my mom does *cough*lynne*cough* :)

Jamesen is learning quickly. He's about 2 months ahead of Marcus with the physical stuff which is scary seeing as how Marcus was pretty early with all of it.

Here's the last month and a half or so in videos: video one, video 2, video 3, video 4

I'm amazed and yet terrified by this child. I seriously thought that since Marcus was such a busy body, that Jamesen would be lazy. Obviously I was VERY wrong. Never in a million years did I think that Jamesen would be doing things faster than Marcus did. He's right on cue with the two months ahead schedule too.

Marcus' vocabulary has exploded recently too. He's copying a lot of words now. One of his new favorites is baby. He'll look at Jamie and then look at me and say "Baby?" and when I repeat him he'll kiss him. If I don't repeat him he'll keep saying "Baby?" louder and more forcfully. It's so cute! He also likes to say "oval" and the ABC's, though he skips "S" every time. He loves to go through the ABC Zoo Game. Watch it and you'll understand. He goes "A! Ah-dih-day-do! Ahmp, ahmp ahmp! B! Beaw, bwoooouuuuwwwww!" through the entire alphabet. I know nobody but me and Sabe know what the heck he's saying, lol. Guarantee it sounds like jumble to any random person. It's cute though. I need to get a vid of it but he stops every time I try. I'll keep trying though, and keep you posted.

Until then, you can watch THIS video where he talks a bit. I'm trying [unsuccessfully] to get him to say "baby".

There and Back Again

We're home! The drive back wasn't nearly as seamless as the drive there. The drive there was... man I can't even tell you. The boys were perfect except for the last 15 minutes where they were a bit fussy. We were driving through rain and flooding though so maybe it was God's way of keeping Sabe focused on the road properly?

The way back was sunny and the roads were good but MAN were the kids fussy! Jamesen fell asleep really quickly after starting out but was only asleep for like an hour when he woke up upset. Marcus was SO DONE with his carseat really fast as well. Right when we were about to stop, Jamesen fell asleep again so we stopped to get gas and Marcus an icecream cone to try and persuade him to stay quiet. While filling the car Jamesen woke up since the car wasn't in motion but we just got Marcus the cone anyways which lasted only about 5 minutes before he started smearing it all over his harness and refused to touch it after I cleaned him up.... with Jamesen crying the entire time.

I was switching between them trying to keep them quiet while we tried to hurry and make it to a McDonalds so we could let Marcus loose for an hour. We found two and neither had a play place. LAME! So we stopped at a Subway and let the kids out and they were both very angry to get back into their carseats. We were only like 45 minutes away from home by then though and wouldn't you know it, they both passed out.

I'm glad to be home! That wasn't the worst drive I've ever done [the one to Vegas in February when Marcus was 5 months was BY FAR the worst drive I've EVER done] but it was still pretty bad. specially after them being so awesome on the drive there.

We had a blast though and when Marcus realized we were home he started crying and we couldn't get him to stop. I'm pretty sure it was because he didn't want to leave Kahlan and Dorothy!

Speaking of Dorothy... She was laughing at me while I was there, telling me that soon she would need a separate folder of bookmarks for all my many blogs. Well, I've made yet another one. Adi's 365 Blog . Feel free to follow my journey!
