A Visit from Freddie

I'm on an online message board for moms. There's groups of kids who are due around the same time. When all the babies are born, it's called a playroom. In Jamesen's PR, the babies are called the July Fireflies. We've got a firefly toy that gets sent around the PR. He got sent to us this week!

Sadly that's all the interaction that poor Freddie has had since he's been here. Jamesen just isn't interested in him at all! We should save the poor guy some loneliness and pass him on quick!

The Fortune Cookie Knew!!

A little bit ago we went to Panda. We got enough fortune cookies for all of us. We laughed at how the boy's fortunes really did match them. My fortune said that I would have a pleasant surprise in my future. I shrugged it off. I've had a really bad month and I didn't see how anything could be pleasant in my future.

I'm really glad I was wrong!

Marcus has been peeing in the potty a lot! Totally a pleasant surprise! I honestly never thought the would willingly pee in the potty until closer to 4 but here we are at just before 3 peeing in the potty about 4 times a day. The best part is that we've only been actively potty training him for 4 days!

I'm so proud of my little dude!

When mama gets sick...

The whole world falls apart! My niece caught a flu that's been going around and passed it to Marcus, who passed it to Jamesen, who passed it to me. Marcus was over it pretty quick. He only puked once but has had some pretty nasty diapers. We're battling a rash from it right now. Jamesen got it worst. He puked quite a few times though he didn't get the diaper end as bad as Marcus did. I got it late last night and puked a few times and have been lethargic and achy all day today. I honestly don't know what I would do without my dad. He pretty much watched the kids all day today while I slept. I'm still feeling gross, but it seems that it really only lasts about a day and a half so hopefully I get out of it soon. I've been so achy that I can barely hold either boy :(

Please pray for us

My little family could really use some prayers right now. I don't wish to elaborate, but I need strength in my decision making. Any extra prayers you have would be greatly appreciated.

We made it to Vegas!

I promised grandma Lynne that I would post a bunch of pics and vids on my blog for her since she won't be seeing the kids in awhile. It always kills me to see their grandparents crying when I leave. Well I've not taken pics in quite a few days but I got a new toy, a Flip video camera. I've not taken vids in awhile so I'm kinda making up for it. Here's a few that make me giggle

Recent Adventures!

Like I said in the last post, we're trying to make up for not seeing daddy for pretty much a year and being cooped up so we're going to a lot of different things here. You'll have to go to facebook to see the pics as there are a ton of them!

We've had fun though :)

A Bad Case of the Mondays

Wait what? It's not Monday? Well it should be!! I've had a horrible case of the Mondays today! Bear with me as I relieve some stress by putting my day into words.

*sigh*

It started at just after 12 am this morning and again at a little after two, just before 4, around 5:30 and about 6:45. This was the 5th night in a row that Jamesen woke up multiple times due to his teeth despite his teething necklace/pain killers right before bed. It takes me between 5-10 minutes to calm him down and another 10-15 to get him back to sleep enough that he's not flopping around. 20 minutes is enough to mean that I'm really awake and not going back to sleep easily. It usually takes me about 40 minutes on top of that 20 to get back to sleep. Do the math... not fun!

So we got up for good at around 9 [so glad they both slept in for once!] but Jamie was super cranky regardless. We were watching Ponyo and he was fussing and I was ignoring him. Next thing I know, Marcus reaches out and grabs him around the neck and knocks them both over and I see this:

I'm glad they let me reach over and grab my camera before stopping the cuteness.

Despite the moment of happiness, Jamie went back to being super cranky, and since I woke up exhausted, cranky baby meant that I was super cranky. Poor Sabe. When I'm cranky, I nit pick at everything he does. I've been trying to be better but it takes me a minute to realize it's ME being the cranky one, not Sabe doing things just to piss me off. In an attempt to cheer me up, we decided to go get smoothies and Sabe suggested that we put the boys in the new shirts we got them yesterday.

Don't let that last pic fool you. It's photoshopped. No amount of candy, face making or silly noise making was going to get the boys to look or look happy at the same time. Jamesen is the worst. He doesn't sit still long enough to take a picture. I got a lot of blurry, right up at the lens pics of him. Uncooperative kids always make me cranky so since I was already super cranky I was excessively super cranky.

Anyways so we went to Cafe Rio for lunch to try and cheer me up and then got smoothies and headed up to the Living Planet Aquarium because they just added a new penguin exhibit in there and what better to cheer me up than penguins?? We got there and I tried to put Jamesen into the stroller with my smoothie but the straw was too long for him to suck it through and he was getting PISSED [he had just woken up so it was meltdown city anyways]. I asked Sabe to run out and grab my wrap so I could wear him and turned to find him dumping some smoothie all down his front.

Baby in wrap, toddler on daddy's shoulders, camera around mommy's neck.. maybe the day won't be so bad after all....

It was after this picture that everything went back down hill. I had Marcus and Sabe had Jamie. Marcus was staring at the penguins, laughing his head off at them swimming. I was taking pics while listening to his laugh. I looked at him and soaked in his grin for a bit and then took that pic above. I pulled the camera away from my face to look at him again and he was gone.

Now this has happened before but I've always been able to find him amongst the heads of the little people in a matter of a few seconds but as I scanned the heads about 3 times it sunk in that he wasn't there and panic set in. I turned to Sabe and he wasn't there either. Sabe saw the look on my face and knew immediately. I turned to the person who worked there and said "My son is gone!" Sabe handed me Jamie and they both left. I had a split second of hope when someone said "is that him?" but it wasn't. I walked around the hallways of the this place with horrible things going through my head. I wondered if I'd ever see him again. I had person after person ask if I'd found him yet. I kept saying to myself "he's wearing a dark shirt that says 'Big Brother' on it, has a buz cut hair cut and green eyes". I went through the entire place 3 times before the guy who worked there that I had initially gone to said they found him. I turned the corner and there he was in Sabe's arms. I started bawling and tried to hold him but he pushed me away. I'm so glad we found him. I think he thought he was going to be in trouble which is why he didn't want me to hold him. I don't care though. As long as he's safe.

So after we were all calmed down, I saw this sign and asked Sabe to take a pic of me with it. He said, "Make that face you do when you see something penguin."

We left pretty soon after that. We packed up the car, smoothies in hand and went to pull out of the parking lot. There was a ton of construction so the traffic was bad. Someone was nice enough to let us in. We pulled forward and Sabe accidentally popped the lid off his smoothie when the light turned green. He was trying to get it back on so I told him it was green and went to grab the smoothie. I don't really know what happened, but he pushed the gas and we were coming out of the parking lot at a weird angle so the wheels were already really turned to the right. I think he forgot or lost control of the steering wheel or something, but when he pushed the gas it kinda shot us onto the sidewalk a bit and the smoothie was knocked out of my hand by his frantic attempt to get a hold of the steering wheel. Yeah, Sabe and the car were covered in smoothie [mainly Sabe].

We cleaned it up and he was pretty pissed of course. Jamesen was pissed too and started crying and cried the entire way home.

I'm sitting in our bed with Marcus who is sleeping and Sabe's up stairs asleep with Jamesen. I'm hoping that the bad case of the Mondays is over because I'm not sure how much more we can take!
